Salt and Pepper Pugs

I truely feel that these are the best things I have ever ever purchased.. my salt and pepper shaker pugs, by Quail!!! AAAAAHHH!!!

I found them on ebay by mistake and they go for between £15-£20, there aren't many of them on there so if you want them you better be quick! 

I really like the high gloss finish and attention to detail, although I feel there could be a bit more on the black pug. Although saying that, its quite hard to see detail on a black pug even when they are sitting in front of you.

 My genuine excitement may have driven me to insanity because what you are about to see next, is, to be honest, quite disturbing.... Behold Pugs on Tour.....

Mondays Armchair Activity

Happy valentines week, mmwwaaahhh!!! If truth be told I am not hugely into valentines but for the sake of conforming I shall be lovey dovey for a week.. I hope you enjoy it!

So for today activity I have something super duper easy for you!

PAINTED PEGS!!!

So I have decided that doing washing is really really boring so today we shall paint pegs to make it a tad more interesting!!

Right this bit is cheating slightly, but before you get to your sofa/armchair you should paint you pegs in a mix of colours, using acrylic paints.. well that is if you don't want paint all over your living room!

Give them about an hour, and they shall be dry yay and then you can be lazy and plonk your bum in front of the telly!!

In order to create something beautiful you will need:

• your painted pegs
• a permanent marker pen
• super glue
• sand paper
• buttons and other option accessories!

I am not doing separate steps for this, there is just no need!! All you have to do now is draw on your pegs in whatever patterns you fancy, or you could leave them plain and sand some bits of paint off for that shabby chic feel!! And you can then ever super glue things to your pegs, bottons, glitter, string, pom poms the opportunities are endless!!

I think these pegs with the little map hearts are my fav, they would be really cute for wedding place settings or even as a wedding favour and they could be decorated in the wedding colours!

So in the spirt of valentines, I made my peg kiss!! Excuse the crude penmanship but I was just doodeling!!

And on an unrelated note, I thought Id share the pics of my newly screen printed fabric with you, I shall be cutting it all up into cushions over the next couple of days!

Cute

I have very little to say today, I got home late from work and spent an hour cleaning and redrawing my screen, ready for printing my cushions and what not over the weekend which I will of course share with you over next week.

So while we are waiting for that I though I would share two very cute little pictures with you.

First, we have these little gnomes, I found them by accident when looking for garden gnomes, I love them!!! They remind me of little russian dolls, I havnt painted one in ages so maybe that will be a monday armchair activity!

Second we have the cutest wire bird cage, its so simple, so minamalistic but yet so cute and busy!! And the birds are cute, this will defo be another one to try... maybe not on an armchair though otherwise we made end up poking our selves in the eye with wire!!!

P.s. We booked our holiday today yay!! Have a happy weekend everyone!!

Screen Printed Cushions

Today we went on a road trip to Guildford, by that I literally mean that we drove there and back without even exiting the car!! We had imagined it to be a fairly quaint city with lots of cute shops... nope, that is not what we found. The roads were complicated and we go so angry driving round and round trying to find a car park that we just came home again, also the weather was pooey!! 

So now I am back at home, thinking about holidays, dinner, work tomorrow and screen printing. 

The latter being the subject for todays post. I have been thinking for a while now that I need to sort out my screen printing screens and make some more cushions and that is what I shall do this evening, but in the mean time I thought I would share some of my fav screen printed cushions for sale via ze interweb!

Above we have two gorgeous cushions for sale on not on the high street. They can be personalised which as we all know is very in at the mo, but they aren't too mushy, lovey, dovey, which I like.

Right so above we have the best thing I have ever seen ever, log cushions!!! The creator (my imaginary boyfriend) doesn't seem to be making them any more, but I'm sure they can be found online somewhere. I want them to put in my unused fireplace!

 I like the plain nature of the above two cushions, they are made by Laura Cherry. They could almost be kids toys, which I think is great and the geometric patterns on the little animal bodies is just too sweet.

So i almost cried when I saw this cushion, look at the little look this bubba elephant is giving us awww!!! I was watching David Attenborough's Africa last night and there was a blind baby rhino.. I feel that that probably has something to do with my admaration for this little cutie made by Ross Menuez!!

Envelopes

I realise that the majority of you are in bed already, but perhaps you will see this tomorrow. I have been working on some little envelopes to send out to various people to hopefully increase our circulation.

They contain; Little chinese cranes made from vintage Rupert the bear paper, business cards, little photos, a couple of drawings and a little message!

The Flower Flat

I realised today that my home is literally filled to the brim with flowers, they are actually everywhere.. these pictures are a result of that realisation and a little bit of writers block... enjoy!

Mondays Armchair Activity

I am horribly sorry that I missed my post on Friday night, my user on the laptop got some sort of virus thing and its taken Rich a couple of days to fix, but hey ho we eventually got there and it seems to be fine... fingers crossed. 

So to begin tonight's post I have a couple of pictures. 

My diagonal pink and white crate, yay! and obviously the picture of what I used my original 3 crates for, fabric storage, yay again! Although the hours of painting where pretty pointless because you cant see any of it now any way! Never mind!

Right so Mondays Armchair Activity... Origami Hearts

Its ever so easy today all you need is:

• Scissors
• A mixture of papers.. DONE!

STEP 1. Strips of paper, the thicker they are, the larger the heart. The longer they are, the stronger they are. (also using thick paper helps!!)

STEP 2. Fold the end over to make a triangle, like sssoooo...

STEP 3. Carry on folding the triangle over and over.

STEP 4. When you get to the end, it should look like this....

STEP 5. Cut the end of you paper into a shape which will be easy to tuck into the fold you see in the picture above. Then tuck it in,  this will secure the triangle.

STEP 6. Take your triangle and using you nail, press down in the center to make the shape below, then gently flatten the corners... like the next picture.

STEP 7. Your heart will now be taking shape, it should look 3D

STEP 8. Optional, you can now trim the corners into a round shape, like below. I think it makes these little squishy shapes look more like hearts but does make them slightly less stable.

STEP 9. Now make 40,000 more hearts of various sizes in lots of different papers, pop them in a jar and make it look pretty like this!

 And that is that, origami paper hearts in a lovely jar, done!
